Vernon’s location puts it right in the “Path of Totality” for the upcoming total solar eclipse which will occur on April 8, 2024.  Being within this 124-mile wide band of totality means that viewing the event from this location will have viewers see the sun’s complete concealment behind the moon, resulting in a captivating display where the sky becomes dark in the middle of the day, stars emerge, and the delicate plasma halo known as the sun’s corona is unveiled.
