Lincoln County is an historic land, filled with mountain ranges, windswept valleys, streams and lakes, wild animals, shops and dining, and abundant opportunities for outdoor recreation.
Visitors come here to “Escape the Chaos” and experience a small-town atmosphere with many scenic and renowned attractions. The county has five small towns, six state parks, mountain biking and OHV trails, and many other incredible destinations.
From the lush Pahranagat Valley to the high elevations of Pioche, Lincoln County’s communities each have a unique personality and storied history. All offer small-town charm and cozy abodes to rest and recharge during your stay. Our towns include a variety of lodging and camping options, grocery and convenience stores, and several dining establishments.
As you head out to explore, our immaculate state parks offer hiking, biking, camping, fishing, incredible dreamscapes, and a myriad of ways to enjoy the great outdoors. Each park – Beaver Dam, Cathedral Gorge, Echo Canyon, Kershaw-Ryan, and Spring Valley – has its own unique story and features. And the Elgin School House State Historic Site provides a wonderful window into early 20th-century history.
Caliente – Biking Destination
Lincoln County continues to add to its reputation as a rugged paradise. For example, Caliente is the hottest (pun intended) new biking destination in the West. With everything from technical descents to dirt jumps to fast flow, our trail systems have something for every rider — and we’re still building. The area’s beautiful terrain, sunny climate, great trails, and classic desert solitude create an unrivaled mountain biking experience.
Our vast off-road network crisscrosss diverse terrain, offering access to stunning views. The renowned Silver State Trail is a 260-mile loop of well-marked backcountry roads that will take you up and down Lincoln County’s famous mountain/basin landscape. Promoted by the Nevada Off-Highway Vehicles Program, Lincoln County “offers a web of trail systems for all types of OHV fun, with numerous routes through washes and valleys, along forested ridgelines and through sagebrush steppe habitat.”
Here you can take in incredible wilderness and landscape as well as observe all the majestic wildlife the high desert has to offer. Adventure awaits in Lincoln County, where vast expanses of public land are open for exploration. Thousands of square miles of unspoiled wilderness offer a range of outdoor fun.
These are just some of the many attractions waiting for you here in Lincoln County. Learn more and plan your trip by visiting LincolnCountyNevada.com.
