For over two centuries, travelers have come here to rest, relax, and rejuvenate. The peaceful back roads and mountain views offer breathtaking scenery and enchanting vistas.

One element of a relaxing vacation is the impeccable hospitality and ideal places to stay. Bath County is home to the 500-room Omni Homestead Resort, which first opened its doors in 1766. Today you can still soak in the naturally heated mineral spring at the resort as well as indulging in a full array of spa treatments. Just up the road are the recently restored historic Warm Springs Pools. While owned by the Omni Homestead, they are available to the public for around $25, a nice combination with one of the numerous award-winning Bed & Breakfasts, small Inns, or the assortment of rental cottages & cabins, each with its own history and personality.

There are many reasons why exploring Bath County restores the soul. World class music, amazing art, a rich culinary scene, and endless outdoor recreation are just a few of the other options.

The culinary scene is as varied as it is sophisticated. For breakfast, sip an espresso paired with home-made pastries. If you enjoy a touch of golf history with your meal, check out Sam Snead’s.  Dinner options range from flat bread pizza to gourmet delights. Creative chefs are winning over food lover’s hearts with European-inspired dishes and exceptional farm-to-table experiences thanks to the region’s many family farms. Check out Waterwheel Restaurant, LCDO or the Tavern at Warm Springs Inn.

Troddenvale at Oakley Farms

A great complement to the local culinary community is a thriving beverage scene. Rock Roadhouse Winery will soon be opening a tasting room on Main Street in Hot Springs and Troddenvale at Oakley Farms is revitalizing fruit growing for cider production in Bath County. Be sure to check out Folklore Fridays at Troddenvale for a weekend supply of farm to table take home items. If it’s a flight of beer you want, look no further than Bacova Beer. Not surprisingly, it’s also a favorite gathering place.

Another great cultural gem is found halfway between Warm Springs and Hot Springs. The Garth Newel Music Center is a chamber music venue that presents over 50 concerts throughout the year. Performances include the Garth Newel Piano Quartet, as well as renowned guest musicians. Concert tickets can be purchased as a stand-alone but don’t miss the often-paired gourmet meals prepared by their resident chef, Josh Elliott.
