1. Open Range at the Historic Sheridan Inn

Begin your culinary odyssey at the Historic Sheridan Inn, a revered landmark that has welcomed travelers since the late 1800s. In fact, Buffalo Bill Cody, a partner in the construction of the inn, frequently auditioned his Wild West Show right from the iconic porch. Step into the elegant atmosphere of the inn’s dining room and relish delectable dishes crafted from locally sourced ingredients and grab a drink at the bar gifted to Buffalo Bill by none other than Queen Victoria. The menu at Open Range, the inn’s restaurant, showcases the best of Wyoming cuisine, including mouthwatering bison burgers and savory steaks.

2. The Warehouse Gastropub 

Elevated pub grub is served up in a stylish setting in this new addition to Sheridan’s culinary scene. Brunch is to die for here, with creative fare like breakfast pizza (sausage, bacon, eggs, caramelized onions, mozzarella, garlic sauce) and the spectacularly sweet bombolini (Italian donuts with Nutella and whipped mascarpone). The Warehouse also features regular live music, a supper club, and cocktails for a cause. 

 3. The Wagon Box Inn

 Nestled among the pines in the hamlet of Story, Wyoming, the Wagon Box underwent a change in ownership late last year and has reemerged as one of the top restaurants in the state. It doesn’t hurt that dining out on the sprawling deck in the evening is one of our region’s most seminal experiences. The pork belly burnt ends are one of the most delicious appetizers you’ll ever sink your teeth into, while the buffalo short rib is the perfect reward after a long day of hiking the nearby mountains.

4. The PO News & Flagstaff Café 

Experience the charm of a classic American diner at The PO News & Flagstaff Cafe. This beloved local spot exudes a retro vibe and serves hearty breakfasts, comforting soups, and homestyle favorites. The welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff create a nostalgic ambiance, making it a must-visit for travelers yearning for a taste of the past.

5. The Brinton Bistro

Located within the Brinton Museum, The Brinton Bistro offers a culinary journey amidst art and culture. Enjoy a meal surrounded by stunning artwork and panoramic views of the Bighorn Mountains. 6. The Silver Spur Café

A classic café experience to fuel all your wildest Wyoming adventures. One of Sheridan’s most beloved and longest-serving institutions, the silver spur is known for its Calamity Jane French toast cinnamon rolls, hearty homestyle breakfast burritos, and cock-a-doodle-do omelets. Breakfast at the Silver Spur is a Sheridan County right of passage.

7. Wyoming Buckshot Saloon

Located in Ranchester, at the start of the epic Bighorn Scenic Byway, the Buckshot Saloon is always featuring something fresh and exciting. One week it’s a hearty BBQ platter courtesy chef Jason Pepin, the next it’s a classic fry bread, and after that it’s a trio of vampire tacos. In the summertime the Buckshot is a great place to unwind after a full day of hiking, biking, fishing, and exploring. Come winter, this is where you want to fuel up before heading out and crushing a full day of powder turns. 

8. Just LeDoux It Saloon & Steak Out

While the new location is making hay in Vegas, the original LeDoux Saloon is still dishing up the hits in Big Horn. We love the atmosphere, the nods to the late, great Chris LeDoux, the signature cocktails, and the locally sourced ingredients. We’re always game for a Legerski Roll, and we have a deep affinity for the Bareback Jack spare ribs, but the star of the show nearly always ends up being one of the prime cuts of beautiful beef.
