Explore Wineries & More in Hiawassee & Young Harris

Nestled in the northeast Georgia mountains, the quiet towns of Hiawassee & Young Harris, offers the traveler a nice, relaxing time. We have two vineyards in our county, and they are both located in the Upper Hiwassee Highlands Appellation, or AVA (American Viticultural Area), which was the first legally designated AVA in the state of Georgia.
Hightower Creek Vineyards, open since 2012 and located at 7150 Cannan Drive in Hiawassee, this winery offers a beautiful setting to enjoy the fruits of their labor. Hightower Creek Wines are crafted to celebrate the unique tastes of North Georgia. At Hightower Creek, they believe in allowing our wines to fully express their sense of home and are committed to using only local fruit. While in that area of Hiawassee, be sure you stop by Bon Bon’s Market at Kimsey Parker Farm, located at 4671 Hwy 76 East. At Bon Bon’s you will find home-cooked quiches, sandwiches for that perfect picnic, and delicious desserts. Owner, Bonny Parker says, “You will be surprised when you walk into Bon Bon’s, it’s just a down-home feel good kinda place. Come sit on a rocker or grab an ice cream and go sit by the creek.” It’s a great place to pick up a gift basket for a friend or find something special for yourself.
