Immerse Yourself in Oswego County’s Great Outdoors This Summer

While Oswego County offers four seasons of fun, summer is an especially lively time to visit! Featuring plenty of outdoor activities and attractions, Oswego County is the perfect destination for anyone who loves nature.
Explore our roughly 200 miles of trails and discover our beautiful natural resources for yourself. Most of the trails throughout the county are multi-use and allow hiking, biking, walking or running. An especially scenic trail to hike on is at Salmon River Falls Unique Area, where you can enjoy breathtaking views of a 110-foot waterfall.
Spend a warm summer day at one of our many parks. Check out the recently remodeled Selkirk Shores State Park, which features campsites and cabins, a boat launch, beach, hiking trails, picnic tables and benches, a playground and more.
Other beaches are located at Mexico Point State Park, Sandy Island Beach State Park, and David C. Webb Memorial Park at Taft Bay. Each park has picnic tables, barbeque grills and other amenities to help you have a day of fun in the sun.
You can also explore Oswego County from the water! Whether you enjoy boating or want to kayak or canoe the Oswego Canal, there are many water recreation opportunities.
Want to truly immerse yourself in nature? Spend some time at Vanderkamp, a wilderness retreat set on 850 remote acres. Treat yourself to luxury lodging, explore the multiple hiking trails, unwind in the sauna at the White Pine Spa, and swim, fish, kayak or canoe on Vanderkamp Lake.
