Fall in Love with Blairsville, Georgia
Where the north Georgia mountains blaze with autumn color, Blairsville offers scenic drives, mountain trails, apple orchards, and a small-town warmth that makes it one of the South's most rewarding fall escapes.

The roads begin to wind, the air turns crisp, and the autumn leaves are on full display. It’s fall in the north Georgia mountains, and you’re there meandering your way through the mountains to… wherever you were going. You can’t even remember because you’re lost in the beautiful views around you.
Blairsville sits in the heart of the north Georgia mountains, and it is the perfect place for a fall getaway in the south. With some of Georgia’s most scenic roads running through the surrounding area, fall is the best time to come visit the mountains as they light up with vibrant reds, oranges, and yellows. Take a break at roadside pull off to enjoy the leaves up close or get expansive views of southern Appalachia.
Outside of leaf peeping, Blairsville also has several fall activities that are favorites for both locals and visitors.

Blairsville’s annual Sorghum in the Mountains Festival has been a staple for nearly six decades. Sorghum production in the area dates back to the 1800s and local producers have continued those traditions of sorghum making into today. Every second and third weekend in October, head down to Meeks Park to view how it’s made, sample some sorghum syrup with a homemade biscuit, and buy a jar to take home with you. Included in the Sorghum Festivals are a wide variety of local vendors, entertainment, games, and activities for everyone to enjoy.
Vogel State Park, one of Georgia’s oldest and most visited state parks, is a beloved spot for people wanting to enjoy the fall weather. You can rent a cabin on site, bring your camper, or pitch your tent in one of the many sites at the park. There are a multitude of activities that many visitors enjoy including fishing, paddle boating, hiking, and mini golfing. As you spend the day enjoying the views around Lake Trahlyta, wind down with a cup of hot chocolate around the campfire.

Sunrise grocery is one of Blairsville’s most iconic roadside markets. Famous for their boiled peanuts and local produce, Sunrise Grocery is a must stop in the fall. Going through the isles and taking in the old structure almost transports you back to a time when the world was much smaller and mountain life was much slower.
A cool mountain morning isn’t complete without a good cup of coffee. Blairsville has a multitude of local coffee shops where you can grab a cup of coffee to go before heading to walk around the local park or drive through the mountains. Be sure to grab a bite to eat while you’re at it. Blairsville has some of north Georgia’s most iconic restaurants including The Sawmill Place and the Hole in the Wall.
