Three-Day Winter Itinerary in Fresno County, CA

If you think winters are dull and gloomy, you clearly haven’t experienced a Fresno County winter. 

Day One

See some of Fresno County’s must-visit spots, including the Fresno Chaffee Zoo. The whole family can enjoy this world-class zoo with interactive exhibits and behind-the-scenes tours for a fraction of the cost of other nearby zoos. As the fifth-largest city in California, Fresno has an amazing nightlife, from comedy shows, breweries, and live music. See up-and-coming comics, rock bands, and bluegrass at local venues, or catch a Fresno Philharmonic Concert. Tioga-Sequoia Brewing is a Fresno favorite with hops named after iconic landmarks in our nearby national parks. Crow & Wolf Brewing Company has award-winning craft beer, and seltzers and hosts food trucks every night. 

Day Two 

Snowbirds can get the best of both worlds by enjoying comfortable temperatures and walking through a winter wonderland, all in one trip! After a day with sunny skies in the city, head out to one of the three national parks surrounding Fresno and Clovis. Easily access Yosemite, Sequoia, and Kings Canyon National Park for hiking and snowshoeing. For more winter sports, hit the slopes at China Peak for great skiing and snowboarding. Head back to the city to grab a bite to eat in the farm-to-fork capital of the U.S.

Day Three

Trade the winter gloom for blooms by experiencing the Fresno County Blossom Trail. If you visit from mid-February to mid-March, stone fruit trees show off with a dazzling display of pink and white blossoms. The trail stretches 70 miles and is a stunning reminder that the nation’s food is grown in Fresno County. See the trees in full bloom as you drive or bike the self-guided tour, and meet the farmers who make it all happen.
