We recommend starting your visit with a delicious craft latte from Queen Bee Coffee Company for those perfect cozy vibes. Inside, you can also explore Dog Eared Books, a local new and pre-owned bookstore that offers a curated selection of titles. With your java in hand, there are so many unique boutiques and shops to choose from whether you’re looking for a custom piece of jewelry, artistic finds or the latest trends in fashion.

After exploring our quaint array of businesses, grab some lunch from one of our renowned foodie spots! From Her Majesty Kitchen, owned by Chopped Winner Chef Chelsia, serving up Cajun Southern favorites to Grits Cafe, specializing in Southern fare with a twist, we’re home to the ultimate comfort dishes! End your day with an IPA from Fox City Brewing Company.

Where the Great Outdoors Come Alive

Nestled in the heart of Georgia, our community is surrounded by beautiful state parks and nature centers, perfect for those looking to reconnect with nature. Indian Springs State Park, which is located just outside of Forsyth, is one of the oldest state parks in the nation, making it a must-see! This 528-acre property was once used by the Creek Nation, as the springs that feed into the park were believed to have healing properties.

Today, you can sample the water for yourself at the Stone Spring House, which was built during the Great Depression. While you’re here, enjoy biking, boating, hiking, paddling, and camping on-site to soak up the tranquil setting of this stunning park.

Another serene setting to check out is High Falls State Park, which features incredible views of cascading waterfalls. This property was once a bustling industrial town in the 1800s, with the remains of the old hydroelectric power plant foundation still visible today. Take the time to explore this incredible park, whether it’s through hiking, fishing, boating, or camping at one of the lakeside yurts. Take advantage of the all access ADA trail.

A Slice of Southern Legacy

If you’re a fan of the award-winning film Fried Green Tomatoes, a quick drive over to Juliette is in order. For those who aren’t familiar with its unique backstory, Juliette was once a thriving community but became a ghost town after the local mills shut down. With its future looking bleak, the emergence of a film crew looking for the perfect location to film their upcoming movie appeared, changing the trajectory of this town forever.

Today, you’ll find that Juliette is a charming town, with cozy shops and the iconic Whistle Stop Cafe as seen in the movie. Visitors from across the world visit the Whistle Stop Cafe, so we recommend heading over as soon as they open to beat the rush! After indulging in some Southern classics, explore shops like The Honey Comb, known for its beeswax candles and local honey, or Verna Cora’s, which has an incredible vintage collection.
